Graduate Medical Education Policy For
Submitting Annual Report to the Organized
Medical Staff

PURPOSE

To define the policy by which a report of Graduate Medical Education (GME) activities will be submitted to the Organized Medical Staff and governing body of Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Dallas on an annual basis.

SCOPE All trainees participating in programs sponsored by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.
PROVISIONS

The GME office will be responsible for compiling a report of the following information which will be presented to the Medical Education Committee, the Medical Board and the Board of Trustees each year.

This report will include:

  1. Activities of the Medical Education Committee from the previous year
  2. Comments on resident supervision
  3. Explanation of resident responsibilities
  4. An explanation of the resident evaluation process
  5. Compliance with and monitoring of duty hour standards
  6. Communication about the safety and quality of patient care provided by all residents

Concerns from the above mentioned committees will be relayed to the GME office and a response to those concerns will be generated and presented to the committees in a timely manner.
